Our post might not have scheduled like we wanted, but that just means we get to highlight more outstanding athletes in the same week, starting today!Congratulations to our Jersey Mike's Athletes of the Week!These athletes were nominated by their coach for their leadership on and off the court as well as their effort and performance in practice and during games/meets!Coach Emory had this to say of Bryena, “Bryena is the true embodiment of a great athlete. Each day she gives her absolute best effort, pushing herself to work as hard as possible. She encourages her teammates with positivity and sets the example of what it means to be dedicated and determined. If a teammate is struggling during conditioning, Bryena doesn’t hesitate—after finishing her own set, she willingly goes again to support and motivate them. Congratulations to our first Jersey Mike's Athletes of the Week!These athletes were nominated by their coach for their leadership on and off the court as well as their effort and performance in practice and during games/meets!Coach Plemmons had this to say of Arianna, “Every team needs that one player who brings energy, grit, and heart to every single point—and for us, that’s Ariana. As our libero, she is the definition of hustle. Whether it’s chasing down a shanked pass, laying out for a dig, or keeping a rally alive, she refuses to let the ball hit the floor without a fight. Welcome our "new" Head Soccer Coach, Casey Davis!

Coach Davis is returning to HPA after a few years away from the program. He was an NCAA Division II player at North Greenville University and has previously coached at Spartanburg High School, Broome High School, and was instrumental in starting our soccer program here at HPA.“I look forward to being back on the sidelines for the Grizzlies and continuing the growth of the program. There will definitely be some challenges in returning since we have moved up in regions, and it will take some time to evaluate our talent for the upcoming season as well as what we can build on for the future. But I am excited to face those opportunities with the team and staff we will have in place when the season begins.”
